Canelazo

Serves 4

2 cups water
1 cup light brown sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
1 cup dark rum
1 tablespoon lime juice
Sugar
Lime slices for garnish

In top of double boiler add water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks. Fill halfway with water and set over medium-high heat. Stir mixture until sugar dissolves, then continue heating 10 minutes, making sure that mixture does not boil, and lowering heat if necessary.

Stir in ru and lime juice and remove from heat. Wet rims of four small glass tumblers with water or lime juice and press upside down into bowl of sugar. Pour canelazo, including cinnamon sticks, into tumblers. Garnish with lime slices.
