Double Boiled Peruvian Caramel / Dulce de Leche / Manjarblanco al Bano Maria

Ingredients :

1 can condensed milk

Preparation:

Place can in a medium size pan (or a double boiler), cover with water and bring to a boil for 2 hours or 45 minutes in a pressure cooker. Cool before opening the can.

Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve.

Peruvian Caramel / Dulce de Leche / Manjarblanco Casero

Ingredients :

4 cups milk
1 ½ cup white sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla

Preparation:

Combine milk with sugar. Cook, stirring constantly until thickened and the bottom of pan is seen while stirring.

Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Cool and transfer to a serving bowl. Serve.
